I have recently bought the Asus UX32A. It's great, however something happened that I did not expect. It didn't come with any driver or windows installation disks. Neither did it come with any form of Microsoft OEM sticker on the laptop. What it DOES come with is a recovery partition, which Asus says in its manual to use if you wish to recover the laptop to factory settings. After some research, apparently this is natural, and is the way of things nowadays. Is there a way to find out the Windows serial number if I ever come to a point of wanting to re-install fresh Windows without having a buy a new copy?
Thank you in advance.
To find the correct model number and product number of your laptop , the most common way is to look for a sticker at the bottom of the laptop. It is also written on the battery compartment. It’s clearly written there. But if there are no stickers around, there are various ways with which you can find the model number.
Where Is My Windows 10
Method 1 – Using command prompt
Step 1 – Open command prompt as admin
Step 2 – Now, enter the following command.
To get the serial number of your laptop use. Note that many laptop manufacturers let you search via serial number to find the correct model number.
Another alternative code to get both model number and serial number of your laptop.
Method 2 – Using system information tool
Step 1 – Press windows key + x and click on run.
Step 2 – Now, write the following command in the run box.
Step 3 – Once the system information window comes up, find your model number written beside system model field.
Note – Alternatively you can also search system information in windows 10 taskbar search to open system information window.
I need to know where to find my product key number. I cannot use some programs without it. I did receive a product key number from Norton Security systems but when I try to use it, the system says it is incorrect. The number I have is <<Removed>>. Can you confirm this is correct or tell me where to access the correct product key number.
I hope to hear from you soon regarding this matter. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Joan Fritz
You don't have *a* product key. You probably have a product key for each of several different products. For example, if you are running Windows 7, you certainly have a Windows 7 product key. If you have Microsoft Office installed, you have an Office product key. And if Norton uses a product key, then you have a Norton product key. And several other programs use product keys too. A single product key can not be used for several different products.
Check Win 10 Serial Number
So when you say 'I need to know where to find my product key number. I cannot use some programs without it' that makes no sense. Each of the programs that you can't use has its own product key, so please tell us which programs you are asking about and where you got the programs. Each of the programs should have come with its own product key in the package it came in.
And one remaining point: if you are asking about a product key for programs that are part of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Office came with your computer, almost certainly what you have is only a trial version of Office, and you have no product key for it. Your trial period has expired, and if you want to continue using it, you now need to buy the product and get a key for it.
